Pelosi And Reid Amnesty For Illegal Alien Criminals

November 16, 2010 Leave a comment

The DREAM Act or NIGHTMARE ACT would offer an amnesty to illegal aliens who serve in the military or attend college, but would also open the door to massive legal immigration through Chain Migration and entice future illegal immigration because it’s an open-ended amnesty. Furthermore, the bill contains no border security measures or additional interior enforcement measure that would help curb illegal immigration. Its bewildering just how much contempt Obama,Pelosi and Reid have for this country. After being thrown out on there asses by a pissed off American electorate they still insist on bringing forward legislation that further erodes the country. This Amnesty rewards criminals who blatantly violate our countries borders and laws with complete disregard. Furthermore with a unemployment rates hovering well above 10% in many parts of the country these illegals drive down already stagnant wages and poison the dwindling job pool. These illegals also murder, rape and rob more Americans every year then Al-Qaeda. The cost to the middle-class is staggering all public services are affected by this onslaught of humanity. Our schools suffer, our hospitals suffer and our public safety agencies are stressed to the breaking point. All this equates to a lower standard of living for Americans who already foot the bill for hundreds of thousands of legal immigrants who choose to come here legally . One look at the carnage and corruption south of our border gives one a look at our future if Obama,Pelosi and Reid are left to there destruction of the dwindling middle-class.

Pelosi wants DREAM Act vote

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to push for a vote during the lame-duck session on a bill that would legalize young, undocumented immigrants if they attend college or serve in the military, according to Democratic sources familiar with a leadership conference call Wednesday.

A vote on the bill, known as the DREAM Act, could come as early as next week, the sources said. Pelosi asked Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) and Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) to assess the mood of the caucus, according to one source.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had previously announced that he plans to bring up the DREAM Act during the lame duck session. His spokesman said Wednesday that Reid still hopes to call a vote.

The move by Democratic leaders to put immigration back on the legislative calendar will win support from Latinos, whose strong turnout numbers in the West last week were credited with helping the party hold on to control of the Senate. Immigration advocates have pressed Democrats to move on the DREAM Act as a “down-payment” on their promise to push for a comprehensive immigration reform bill in the future.

But Democrats also risk appearing out of sync with voters, who sent a message during the midterm election that they want lawmakers to focus on job creation.

The DREAM Act provides a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants if they were in the United States before age 16, and if they have been residents for five years before enactment of the law. They would need to attend college for two years or join the military.

The bill has attracted Republican support in the past. But partisan lines have hardened in recent years, and Republicans, including some who were co-sponsors at one point, haven’t been willing to go to bat for the bill.

Federal Employees making 6 figures
Growth of Federal Workforce
Excellent Video that lays out the Federal workforce screwing of America

Under Obama, Pelosi and Reid the unionized federal workforce has skyrocketed while private sector workers wages and employment continue to plummet. Obama is driving our country into a Greek type economic meltdown. The taxable income is vanishing under Obama, Pelosi and Reids with there full scale assault on capitalism. Where is the money going to come from to pay these bloated salaries and pensions. The federal government should be cut by 30-40% and wages slashed to private sector levels. Huge cuts need to hit many of the redundant federal agencies like the Dept of Education. Every state and city already have boards of education, why should the federal government be involved in local issues. There are examples of this replication of services all over the wasteland of the federal government. Folks this is your hard earned income being stolen every day to prop up corrupt union workers and politicians. How many times have you dealt with rude, unpleasant & obnoxious federal workers.

The number of federal workers earning six-figure salaries has exploded during the recession, according to a USA TODAY analysis of federal salary data.

Federal employees making salaries of $100,000 or more jumped from 14% to 19% of civil servants during the recession’s first 18 months — and that’s before overtime pay and bonuses are counted.

Federal workers are enjoying an extraordinary boom time — in pay and hiring — during a recession that has cost 7.3 million jobs in the private sector.

JOBS FORECAST: Track job growth across USA
PROS AND CONS: President Obama crafts strategies to create jobs

The highest-paid federal employees are doing best of all on salary increases. Defense Department civilian employees earning $150,000 or more increased from 1,868 in December 2007 to 10,100 in June 2009, the most recent figure available.

When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.

The trend to six-figure salaries is occurring throughout the federal government, in agencies big and small, high-tech and low-tech. The primary cause: substantial pay raises and new salary rules.

“There’s no way to justify this to the American people. It’s ridiculous,” says Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, a first-term lawmaker who is on the House’s federal workforce subcommittee.

Jessica Klement, government affairs director for the Federal Managers Association, says the federal workforce is highly paid because the government employs skilled people such as scientists, physicians and lawyers. She says federal employees make 26% less than private workers for comparable jobs.

USA TODAY analyzed the Office of Personnel Management’s database that tracks salaries of more than 2 million federal workers. Excluded from OPM’s data: the White House, Congress, the Postal Service, intelligence agencies and uniformed military personnel.

The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker’s pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.

Key reasons for the boom in six-figure salaries:

• Pay hikes. Then-president Bush recommended — and Congress approved — across-the-board raises of 3% in January 2008 and 3.9% in January 2009. President Obama has recommended 2% pay raises in January 2010, the smallest since 1975. Most federal workers also get longevity pay hikes — called steps — that average 1.5% per year.

•New pay system. Congress created a new National Security Pay Scale for the Defense Department to reward merit, in addition to the across-the-board increases. The merit raises, which started in January 2008, were larger than expected and rewarded high-ranking employees. In October, Congress voted to end the new pay scale by 2012.

• Paycaps eased. Many top civil servants are prohibited from making more than an agency’s leader. But if Congress lifts the boss’ salary, others get raises, too. When the Federal Aviation Administration chief’s salary rose, nearly 1,700 employees’ had their salaries lifted above $170,000, too.

Why Current Immigration Policies Need Change

This story below is a perfect example of why so many people are getting pissed off about Obama continuing a failed immigration policy that is dragging America into decline. To many immigrants mostly illegal are here for financial gain, and could care less about America and our way of life. These hyphenated-Americans make little if any attempt to “melt-in”. They have little problem taking government benefits legally or illegally, while taxpayers suffer. They refuse to learn our language, or adhere to our laws. Where these Mexicans out in the streets supporting the U.S. soccer team, I’ am guessing no. Immigrants use to come here and where grateful to be here, they gave back to the country. The deadbeats immigrating lately are more likely to demand we adjust to there third world ways. Whether its muslims demanding foot baths or some other bunch demanding school books and driver test be printed in there language enough is enough. Lets deport the illegals and close the doors and take care of our fellow citizens. You have to wonder if the folks who legally come here get a little pissed when they see these illegals demanding rights and bad mouthing our country. Why play by the rules when others benefit by cheating, lying and stealing and then are rewarded with Amnesty. Obama, Pelosi and Reed have no problem selling out our nation for short term political gains that benefit there bank accounts. You can add a lot of Republicans into that bunch too, all need to be dealt with!

Fans take to SoCal streets after Mexico soccer win

Associated Press

HUNTINGTON PARK, CALIF. — Fans celebrating Mexico’s 2-0 win over France in World Cup play spilled into streets Thursday afternoon and were ordered to disperse by police wary of a repeat of soccer-related disturbances in the small city southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

“We had to give that order, the crowd was starting to become quiet large and it was becoming a little bit of a threat,” said police Sgt. John Navarrette.

Fans waving flags poured onto Pacific Boulevard, which law enforcement had shut down as a precaution during the second half of the game.

“We want people to celebrate, we have no problem with it whatsoever,” Navarrette said. “We just want them to do it responsibly and peacefully and not cause property damage.”

Huntington Park, home to a large Latino population, has a history of disturbances after Mexico’s World Cup play.

In November 2001, unruly fans celebrating Mexico’s victory over Honduras in World Cup qualifying tossed rocks and bottles and smashed windows after about 1,000 people streamed into the central business district. Officers fired stingballs to disperse the crowd.

In June 1998, throngs filled the streets and more than 30 were arrested for vandalism, assault and failure to disperse after Mexico tied Netherlands to advance. Days later dozens more were arrested after small groups of fans turned unruly following Mexico’s loss to Germany.

Huntington Park also endured an outbreak of violence and looting in 1994 when the World Cup was held in nearby Pasadena.

Bonus bonanza for federal workers
Examiner Editorial
June 16, 2010
President Obama, shown surrounded by White House aides, instituted a pay freeze for top aides. He’s done little to control government pay beyond this symbolic gesture. (Pete Souza/AP, The White House )

Under the Obama administration, the government is doing such a good job that it’s decided to reward itself. Last year, Uncle Sam paid out $408 million in bonuses to 1.3 million federal workers, according to the Asbury Park Press, which obtained the information through a Freedom of Information Act request. That’s about $80 million more than the previous year. About one in four federal workers received a bonus, and awards ranged from $25 to, in the case of one lucky State Department worker, $94,500.

That $408 million figure only counts bonuses that were handed out to about 65 percent of the federal work force. The FOI request didn’t cover awards handed out by the Defense and Treasury departments, security agencies, the White House, Congress and various other federal agencies and commissions. In 2008, the last year information was available, the Department of Defense alone handed out $92 million in bonuses to its 687,000 employees.

Federal bonuses are being doled out liberally, even as federal salaries are exploding. From December 2007 through June 2009, the number of federal workers earning six figures increased from 14 to 19 percent. In 2008, average federal compensation, including pay and benefits, was $119,982 — considerably more than the $59,909 average in the private sector, according to the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the midst of a brutal economic downturn that saw millions of jobs lost and unemployment soar above 10 percent, the Office of Personnel Management data shows the federal workforce actually added nearly 100,000 jobs from December 2008 to December 2009.

In theory, introduction of bonuses and pay-for-performance measures in the federal workforce was a positive reform. However, this boom in federal bonuses suggests an “all carrot and no stick” approach to federal performance. For bureaucrats, job security is a non-issue, and they already earn twice as much as an average American just for showing up to work.

Shortly after he assumed office last year, Obama instituted a pay freeze for top White House Aides earning more than $100,000, saying this would “restore that faith in government without which we cannot deliver the changes we were sent here to make.” The president made it clear that he knows egregious federal salaries are a problem, yet he’s done little beyond this symbolic gesture to address the problem. Actually doing something to rein in the runaway federal bureaucracy would be change taxpayers can believe in.
