A seemingly grassroots organization that’s mounted an online campaign to counter the tea party movement is actually the front end of an elaborate scheme that funnels funds — including sizable labor union contributions — through the offices of a prominent Democratic party lawyer. A Web site popped up in January dedicated to preventing the tea party’s “radical” and “dangerous” ideas from “gaining legislative traction,” targeting GOP candidates in Illinois for the firing squad. “This movement is a fad,” proclaims TheTeaPartyIsOver.org, which was established by the American Public Policy Center (APPC), a D.C.-based campaign shop that few people have ever heard of.
Two Democratic schills, Craig Varoga and George Rakis, are setting up fake grassroots union funded anti-tea party groups. And guess who are some of the big behind the scene bank rollers, big surprise the labor unions. Records show the Service Employees International Union, Change to Win, the Communications Workers of America, the National Education Association, the Teamsters Union, the United Food & Commercial Workers Union and unionized government workers, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). You kind of have to wonder why these leftist unions are so afraid of the tea party crowd. I guess they are afraid of losing the billions of taxpayer dollars the Obama administration is funneling there way.
As with most Union organizations the leadership almost always proves to be corrupt. Time after time the characters who run most all of the major unions end up indicted. It has always amazed me how rank in file members continue to pay up hard earned money for dues while these guys live lavish lifestyles. The short term gains these unions win have cost millions of jobs and driven companies right out of the United States. The automakers are a text book study on how these labor unions have cut there own throats, the extortion has bankrupted once great American companies and left members unemployed. After WWII the U.S. was one of the few countries left not destroyed, for decades we led in manufacturing goods. Well the rest of the world grew up and can manufacture there own plains, trains & automobiles and they do it paying much lower wages. Unions can no longer expect to extort the kind of wages they have in the past for jobs others will gladly do for less. The corrupt union leadership continues to rake in the bucks while the workers are left jobless and in denial. The leader of the SEIU Service International Employees Union is a perfect example, Tyrone Freeman took home a cool $213.000 in 2007 while workers took home about $9.00 per hour. This is the norm in most large labor unions, the leadership does well regardless of the damage the do to the companies they infect. The leader of the SEIU Andrew Stern is Obama’s big buddy, he has visited the White House more then 27 times so far to extract payback for there support. Stern and Obama are doing to the taxpayer what they do to employers, screwing them. The massive growth in government union employees under Obama is going to cost the taxpayers and just add to an already bloated, corrupt and inept federal government. The long term cost in salary, perks and pensions is yet another log tossed on the bonfire created by King Obama and his fellow Democrats. These jobs and pro-union moves by the Obama administration are payback for the hundreds of millions of dollars used to buy Obama the White House. Like the union leadership ,Obama hasn’t created a single private sector job for anyone but his cronies.
Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.) introduced H.R. 1868, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009. H.R. 1868 would end the process of granting automatic birthright citizenship to the babies born in the United States to illegal aliens.
DETAILS: Referred to as “anchor babies,” these children born in the United States are one of the most prominent factors of excessive population expansion and illegal immigration. In its Spring 2005 edition, the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons reported that “[b]etween 300,000 and 350,000 anchor babies annually become citizens… In 2003 in Stockton, California, 70 percent of the 2,300 babies born in San Joaquin General Hospital’s maternity ward were anchor babies…” These staggering figures tell only part of the story. Birthright citizenship incentivices illegal immigration by making anchor babies eligible to sponsor their illegal alien mothers and other relatives once they turn 21. In addition, at present, there is no formal policy that forbids DHS from deporting the illegal alien parents of a child born in the U.S. Yet in most cases, immigration officials habitually choose not to initiate removal proceedings, allowing the parents to remain in the U.S. illegally. Perhaps most starkly, anchor babies additionally draw benefits and services from taxpayer dollars. As the Journal article notes, “Anchor babies are citizens, and instantly qualify for public welfare aid…In 1994, 74,987 anchor babies in California hospital maternity units cost $215 million and constituted 36 percent of all Medi-Cal births. Now they account for substantially more than half.” Not only can the baby serve as an “anchor” to pull a large number of extended family members into the country, but they also can rely on the public services and benefits of the United States
Big business and leftist open border supporters recently came together to promote there anti-American agenda. Big business wants cheap labor and pro immigration groups want to grab power through numbers. The Balkanization of America is under way, modern immigration is about economics and power. In the past immigrants came to America to escape tyranny and oppression, most willingly integrated, learned english and where proud to become citizens. Recent immigrants are making less of an effort to “melt-in”, in effect they become “hyphenated-Americans”. They come here to make money and support there families in other countries. This support often aids in keeping third world thug governments in power. Otherwise would have to answer to an angry populace, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela are perfect examples of this. A long history of corrupt politicians have controlled these countries and the people have never had the guts to change it. The life blood of America is the middle class, and its disappearing. The coming together of these two agendas is bad news for the middle class. This uncontrolled immigration results in depressed wages, over whelmed tax payer funded social programs and rising crime. The country is slowly fragmenting and “Change” is coming, and not in a good way.
Good blog post on Immigration and costs
With the federal deficit growing every minute why do both parties continue to fail at stopping, then reducing immigration that bloats the welfare budgets. The Obama adminisration is growing the federal governments workforce by up 300% while at the same time doing nothing to lessen the horde of unhealthy, uneducated and unskilled immigrants legal and illegal who feed off our taxes. All this is being added too our debt while no income is there to pay the bills. Immigration should be used to benifit our nation, we should be cherry picking the best and brightest who can add to our country. We need doctors, enginneers and scientist not ditch diggers and dish washers. The hard working middle class worker and small business owner is quickly becoming the new “poor & huddled masses”. We can no longer can afford to be the dumping ground for people who cannot succed in there own country. It’s time the policians from both parties start working for the people who elected them. The special interest groups like unions and big bussiness have there own agenda, neither is good for the middle class.
This Backgrounder provides a detailed picture of the number and socio-economic status of the nation’s immigrant or foreign-born population, both legal and illegal. The data was collected by the Census Bureau in March 2007.
Among the report’s findings:
•The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached a record of 37.9 million in 2007.
•Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents, the highest level in 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13
•Overall, nearly one in three immigrants is an illegal alien. Half of Mexican and Central American immigrants and one-third of South American immigrants are illegal.
•Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived — the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. More than half of post-2000 arrivals (5.6 million) are estimated to be illegal aliens.
•The largest increases in immigrants were in California, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
•Of adult immigrants, 31 percent have not completed high school, compared to 8 percent of natives. Since 2000, immigration increased the number of workers without a high school diploma by 14 percent, and all other workers by 3 percent.
•The share of immigrants and natives who are college graduates is about the same. Immigrants were once much more likely than natives to be college graduates.
•The proportion of immigrant-headed households using at least one major welfare program is 33 percent, compared to 19 percent for native households.
•The poverty rate for immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) is 17 percent, nearly 50 percent higher than the rate for natives and their children.
•34 percent of immigrants lack health insurance, compared to 13 percent of natives. Immigrants and their U.S.-born children account for 71 percent of the increase in the uninsured since 1989.
•Immigrants make significant progress over time. But even those who have been here for 20 years are more likely to be in poverty, lack insurance, or use welfare than are natives.
•The primary reason for the high rates of immigrant poverty, lack of health insurance, and welfare use is their low education levels, not their legal status or an unwillingness to work.
•There is a worker present in 78 percent of immigrant households using at least one welfare program.
•Immigration accounts for virtually all of the national increase in public school enrollment over the last two decades. In 2007, there were 10.8 million school-age children from immigrant families in the United States.
$480,000 per month, $5,760,000 per year thats what your paying for that shrew Nancy Pelosi to jet back and forth from D.C. to California every week. Better yet she ditched her USAF C-20B Gulfstream for a Boeing 757 USAF vip equipped USAF C-32 so she can fly non-stop over us sloven masses after her brutal 3-day work schedule. perate. The Speaker and her passengers routinely reimburse the Air Force $120 to $400 for each flight. Just when did these politicians become royalty, its no wonder they have no clue what the rest of us are having to contend with. What do you think her carbon footprint is? This is just a snippet of the blatant waste and abuse we all pay for, there is no end to there assault on taxpayers. Recent FOIA request also show how she uses these flights to shuttle her family members from San Francisco to Washington for vacations.
